Grimes UMC Teams Up with Joppa Outreach

Joppa Outreach is a non-profit organization reaching homeless people in unique ways; in tents and shacks, in doorways and abandoned buildings, in cars and under bridges.  Wherever unsheltered people are living, in and around Des Moines, volunteers visit with them weekly; building relationships, providing humanitarian aid and helping with specific needs. For more information about this organization you can check out their website http://www.joppaoutreach.org/.

Grimes UMC is working with Joppa on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month. Anyone who wants to serve should meet by the Rocket Transfer Warehouse on the SW corner of SW 7th and MLK at noon. We need four people from Grimes UMC each Saturday. You do not have to commit to serving every Saturday. If you want to be on an email reminder list, please contact Shellie at shellie@grimesumc.com.
