Grimes Community Food Pantry

The Grimes Community Food Pantry provides for 40 to 50 families (140 - 175 individuals) once a month. Not all items listed are available to be purchased from the Iowa Food Bank and we depend on the communities donations to supplement these items.

The Food Pantry is open for appointments from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm Tuesday and Thursday. Please call the church office at 515-986-4036 in order to schedule an appointment. In order to receive help from the food pantry you must be a current resident of Grimes and proof of address is required.

Items needed specifically: Items Currently Needed:   Instant Mashed Potatoes, Chili, Kidney and Pork-n-Beans, Canned Pears, Cream of Chicken and Mushroom Soup, Tomatoe sauce, Shampoo and Paper Products.  Monetary Donations are also needed at this time to help purchase food.

Monetary donations are needed and appreciated.  The Grimes Community Food Pantry has seen an increase in families participating in the monthly assistance food program.  The Iowa Food Bank has been low on basic food items we purchase at a greatly reduced price. Lately, we have had to purchase a lot of these items at a higher price. We are diligent in the monies received for the Grimes Food Pantry, but we currently need assistance in being able to fulfill our mission of serving the needs of our community.  Monetary donations may be mailed to the Grimes United Methodist Church, 801 W 1st ST, PO Box 737 or dropped off Monday through Thursday from 8:30am to 2:00pm at the church office.

Or you can donate online:
