Grimes Community Food Pantry Recipients:
GUMC houses the food pantry for Grimes. Participants can pick up dry goods as well as vouchers for perishable goods. Food and monetary donations are welcome. The Food Pantry is for residents of Grimes only. It is open Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am – 2 pm by appointment. Please call a day ahead to make an appointment to pick up your order. (986-4036).
Grimes Community Food Pantry Needs
Current Grimes Community Food Pantry Needs : boxed potatoes (scalloped or augratin), soda crackers, corn muffin mix, tomato soup, pancake syrup, and cake/brownie/cookie mixes. As well as toilet paper, shampoo, and toothpaste.
Monetary donations are appreciated at all times.
On average, the Grimes Community Food Pantry serves 50-60 families per month. Monetary donations are needed and appreciated due to an increase in families participating in the monthly assistance food program. Monetary donations may be mailed to the Grimes United Methodist Church, 801 W 1st St, Grimes, IA 50111 or dropped off Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the church office.

Below is a basic list of food and other items that are given each month to Grimes families, when available, along with a voucher for perishable food items.
Soup (Chicken Noodle, Tomato, Creamed, etc)
Chili Beans/Kidney Beans
Pork and Beans
Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix
Instant Mashed & Boxed Potatoes
Mac & Cheese
Pasta (elbow, bowtie, etc)
Boxed Instant Pudding
Items for the Food Pantry may be dropped off at the Grimes United Methodist Church, Monday through Thursday, 9:00am – 3:00pm or you may drop items at the Grimes Fareway store just inside the entrance.
