At Grimes UMC, we want you to feel like you are coming home and you are welcome here as part of our family. Here’s what to expect…

When to arrive:
If it’s your first visit then it’s probably best to arrive around 10 minutes before the service starts. If you are driving then you’ll be pleased to hear that there is plenty of free parking. Come in the front door under the steeple. You’ll be greeted at the door by greeters who are able to give you some direction if you feel lost.

What to wear:
This is easy. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We accept people as they are. There is no need to dress up to try and be someone that you’re not. You’ll fit here whether you come wearing a business suit or you come wearing your jeans.

What to expect:
We offer worship services at 8:30 and 11am on Sundays, led by one of the church’s praise teams. The service includes upbeat, contemporary praise and worship songs. Service is casual in nature, but intense in content. We begin by joining our voices in praise to our Creator. The time spent in God’s presence is filled with song, prayer, silence, and response. During each service GUMC offers a unique prayer time. Members and guests are invited to come forward and kneel at the altar for a time of prayer and silence. You are also welcome to pray in your seats. We also have a prayer chapel located just off of the back corner of our sanctuary that is open for you to pray in any time the church doors are open. Lastly, you will notice that our congregation in worship is made up of a wide range of ages. We believe that it is important for all our generations to be together in worship. We do offer a Children’s Church during the sermon of the 11:00 service for children in preschool through 2nd grade. We think you will enjoy worshiping with us!
